“Pile all your troubles on God’s shoulders – He will carry the load.” Pslam 55:22

I know it’s all you’ve got to just be strong
Your heart is heavy from all those sleepless nights
Maybe it’s a fight just to keep it all together
Without invitation, the emptiness surrounds you
Whether you’re in need of a miracle or just some solid comfort
There's a soft whisper in your ear,
Just follow the light in the darkness,
You’re going to be ok
The world isn’t always gentle
We learn when we feel deeply
Allow yourself to experience it all
Let it affect you
Yes, it’s heavy darling
I know it hurts
Don’t run away
Stand and face your demons
Don’t pretend they’re not there
Listen closely to what they’re trying to say
The secret to healing is acknowledging your hurting
It’s being uncomfortable and vulnerable
Your soul knows the best way forward
Embrace all your feelings
Be fully in the present
Release all blame and allow forgiveness to show you the way
Wisdom comes from healed pain
Each step you take moves you into greater love
Pile all your troubles on me
I will help you lift your heavy heart

My best friend, Stephanie, and I have a tradition of purchasing street art on every trip we take together. I came across Lifting A Heavy Heart on our recent trip to Asheville, NC and it immediately called my name.
Sometimes when burdens overwhelm us or times are hard and our heart is heavy, we just need to be reminded that we’re not alone on the journey. Maybe the struggle has been hard for a long while now. Or perhaps, you just feel stuck and completely exhausted trying to keep moving forward.
I remember the days when it was impossible to believe that God could have a purpose for good or use for the horrific situation I was in. Maybe you have also found yourself lost in the middle of the desert, standing in the fire watching while it consumes you, or drowning in a flood of tears and grief. Fear and worry are difficult enemies to battle. They seek to chase peace away. The world often feels like a dangerous and hard place on the days we are hurting and broken.
I can’t snap my fingers and take it away.
But I can pray.
Dear Jesus,
I pray for the person reading this who is facing deep loss.
For the ones that are covered in grief.
Please comfort us through this painful season.
Surround us and those we love with your immeasurable peace and reassuring presence of the Holy Spirit.
Help us to trust that you are more than able and powerful to work it all out on our behalf.
Give us the ability to trust more.
Fill our hearts with your assurance.
Give us wisdom to seek and pursue peace.
Thank you for being a soul refresher.
The one that can give us rest and lift our burdens.
Renew our strength and encourage our heavy hearts.
Draw us closer to you.
Help us to know what to hold on to and how to release what we should let go.
Give us rest and hope.
When our hearts are overwhelmed, let us feel your unconditional love surrounding us and give us rest.
The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still. Exodus 14:14
